Meet Ricky FeriaRicky
Greetings Kuyper Family!
I am honored to be working more closely with the Kuyper community this school year. In previous years, I managed on-site campus needs, serving indirectly with co-founders and Pastors Brian Hendry and Don Hamer. This campus oversight will continue this year, as I work in conjunction with the church. Eight years ago, I was also part of the development of Kuyper’s current collaborative structure, specifically the satellite-homeschool segment.
My wife, Cheri, and I are lifelong home educators. We homeschooled our children from K-12 and continue to invest in their young-adult lives. Biblically, each one of us is a homeschooler (Deut 6:4-6), as we have the authority and responsibility to disciple our children. Consequently, we at Kuyper are here to come alongside you, as a like-minded community, to assist you in this God-ordained task.
With this in mind, one of our goals this year is to streamline administration and complement our current learning environment utilizing various technological platforms. There are several options available, ranging from no cost to high cost, so please bear with us as we explore what will work best for Kuyper.
Another goal we continually work toward is refining our classical model. Although our model will never be perfect, we strive for excellence. We will continue to evaluate it and plan to focus on one or more of the three ideas of the trivium. My hope is to have a more active rhetoric program in the second semester.
These are just a few of the plans we have as we begin the school year. I hope you enjoy this first issue of our school’s newsletter, and I am looking forward to the great things God has in store for us this year!
